PAM43: 1859 Lightly Tinted Scottish Regiment Officer (Corporal) Soldier 9th Plt AmbrotypeAt first glance I believed he was a corporal from the 93rd Southerland Highlanders Scottish regiment but the upside down chevrons suggest it may be an American or Canadian regiment (it was purchased in the USA). Chevrons were sometimes worn this way in the UK when given for good conduct but they were only worn on one arm below the elbow. More research required.
