Nice unusual piece of a man posing with a book – is he the author? I have not seen this studio or presentation before – from the unknown table cloth to the material backdrop with curtain to the right. Was this an early itinerant piece? The case is also unusual with plain cross hatched leather, a dark purple silk pad and marbled liner.
