1843 Salt Print of Dr Robert Knox by Hill & Adamson – Dr Robert Knox, (1791-1862) , surgeon and anatomist, calotype, 157 x 113mm., mounted on card, some fading and spotting. Knox was a Scottish anatomist, zoologist, ethnologist and doctor. He was the most popular lecturer on anatomy in Britain, where he introduced the theory of transcendental anatomy, but is now best known for his involvement in the Burke and Hare murders. Some spotting and a little light but a rare and sought after piece by H&A.
